Laura’s musical talent became evident from the age of three or four when she used to drag the neighbours round for singing concerts! She went on to learn the piano and to dabble with a range of other instruments including the flute, the violin, the drums and the guitar but singing and song-writing have always been her first loves - choosing to try out new material in preference to “piano practice”.

Her debut album “Swallow the Sun” evolved gradually with some songs penned as early as 1998. Things started to take off when Laura met the Italian producer Roberto Serritelli in Naples during her year abroad as part of her Theatre Studies and Italian degree at Lancaster University. Serritelli was impressed with her “voice overloaded with emotion” and her “fresh writing style” and asked her to record a selection of four songs with him.

This selection was so well received that Laura decided to return to Naples after finishing her degree to produce the full album and to continue working with the professional musicians she had met there.

The completion of “Swallow the Sun” was followed by a UK tour incorporating venues such as The Half Moon in Putney, The Telegraph in Brixton, The Cox’s Yard in Stratford upon Avon, Lancaster University and Bretton Hall. The success of this tour

led to invitations to perform at corporate events such as the Latin American Music Awards Ceremony in Clapham which was televised in South America (she performed as the English guest of honour) and the 10th anniversary conference for CILT.

Laura’s debut album has received an overwhelming response from people from far and wide with comments on Laura’s “astonishing voice”, “unique lyrics” and “stunning melodies”, drawing comparisons to Kate Bush, Alanis Morrisette, Jewel and Katie Melua. There is something about this album that keeps you coming back for more – Laura is always taken aback by how many people say they listen to her album again and again.
